Grinch Hats

I call them Grinch hats, they remind me of the hat the grinch who stole christmas wore.

• 2 or 3 50 gram balls of sport weight yarn or double knit weight yarn or bulky yarn.
• Size 10 1/2 double point needles.

You use double strand of sport weight yarn and double knit yarn, only single strand of bulky yarn.

Note: this pattern is for 2 sizes, child and adult. Adult size is in parenthesis.

Cast on 18 (21)sts on each of 3 double point needles. total sts= 54(63)

Knit all rounds until hat measures 9 (10) inches from beginning edge.

Begin decreasing by randomly decreasing 1 st from each of the 3 double point needles ( 3 sts decreased in decrease rnd.) Knit 3 or 4 rows between each decrease row, depending on the length you want the hat and the amount of yarn you have available.

decrease until only 3 sts remain on needle break yarn and run through the remaining sts.
